Clean Micro-Lab

The Clean-Room Micro-Lab is a prefabricated contamination-free laboratory designed for chemistry, biology and bioengineering research. It provides a convenient and economical way to establish an area-segregated working environment. The laboratory consists of one or three individual work areas, each with its own segregated air supply and buffered entry area. Customization is available.

FEATURES

  • The laboratory consists of one to three seperate work areas with buffered entry area (300 sq ft total) and uni-directional work-flow;

  • Washable walls, easy to clean and sterilize;

  • Supplied complete with built-in work surfaces, interior lighting, air filtration systems, sample handling airlocks and fully plumbed preparation sink (optional);

  • Laboratory partitions are constructed of high quality aluminum alloy hardware with steel support walls;

  • Pre-wired with electrical, telephone and computer network connections;

  • The contamination control system is very sophisticated and well designed to minimize the possibility of sample contamination.

            

DEMONSTRATION OF REAL-TIME PCR APPLICATION

Three segregated work areas are assigned with different tasks:

  • Reagent preparation room - this is a no-copy environment in which reagents are prepared prior to the addition of target genes;

  • Sample preparation room - samples are prepared for amplification and transferred by airlock to the Amplification room;

  • Amplification room - the equipment required for amplification is housed in this high-copy area.

The air pressure in each room can be independently adjusted to prevent aerosol contamination. Double-door entry chambers allow users to change gowns and shoe covers upon entering or existing a critical work area.

      

CONTAMINATION CONTROL SYSTEM

  • The laboratory is divided into one to three standard work areas air pressure is adjustable in each work area.

  • UV lamps are installed in all three work areas, three buffer area's ceiling, and the transfer windows.

  • Secure electronic airlock for sample transfer: an electronic transfer window prevents contamination during sample transfer between work areas. The airlock system segregates sample/material flow from the personnel flow.

  • Air exhaust pipe system: independently adjustable vents allow the control of air flow and exhaust in each of the three work areas. Positive air pressure can be maintained in each chamber independently to protect against particulate and aerosol contamination.

  • Safe and airtight construction: the laboratory is based on a modular aluminum frame with steel washable support walls and glass windows, and precisely sealed joints around walls and windows.
