Description

This cell line is a HEK-293-CNG cell line that expresses a recombinant human ADORA2A. HEK-293-CNG cells express a modified CNG (Cyclic Nucleotide Gated) channel that opens in response to elevated intracellular cAMP levels and consequently result in ion flux and cell membrane depolarization.

About Human Adenosine A2A Receptor (ADORA2A/A2AR) Stable Cell Line

Adenosine A2A Receptor (ADORA2A), also known as A2A receptor (A2AR), is a Class A G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that is activated by the endogenous nucleoside adenosine. ADORA2A primarily couples to Gs proteins, stimulating adenylate cyclase activity and increasing intracellular cAMP levels. The receptor is highly expressed in the basal ganglia of the brain, as well as in immune cells, platelets, vascular endothelial cells, and the cardiovascular system, where it regulates neurotransmission, inflammation, vasodilation, and immune responses.

ADORA2A plays critical roles in dopaminergic neurotransmission, neuroprotection, and inflammatory regulation. It has become an important therapeutic target for Parkinson's disease, neurodegenerative disorders, cancer immunotherapy, cardiovascular diseases, and chronic inflammatory conditions. In addition, caffeine is one of the best-known competitive antagonists of the A2A receptor, making ADORA2A one of the most extensively studied purinergic GPCRs.
