Name

Ebola Pseudoviral Particles - Bundibugyo Ebolavirus

Description

The Ebola pseudoviral particles are replication‑deficient lentiviruses pseudotyped with the GP from Bundibugyo ebolavirus, derived from the 2026 Democratic Republic of the Congo outbreak sequence (PP_006XHL9.2).

Applications

Our Pseudovirus Particles generate robust chemiluminescent signals in cell assays when coupled with our firefly luciferase assay kit (Catalog # CA-L165), useful for 1) screening potential inhibitors to block ebolavirus A entry into host cells; 2) tittering neutralizing antibody against ebolavirus.

Size

1 ml;  5 ml (for one multi-well plate). Pseudoviral particles per mL > 1.0E+08

Storage

 -70oC. Shipped on dry ice.

Note

Amenable to HTS format (96-well, 384-well and 1536-well format).

About Bundibugyo Ebolavirus Pseudoviral Particles

Bundibugyo ebolavirus (BDBV) is one of the recognized species within the genus Ebolavirus and causes Ebola virus disease (EVD) in humans. The viral glycoprotein (GP) is the only surface protein expressed on the virion and is responsible for host-cell attachment, membrane fusion, and viral entry. Because GP is the primary target of neutralizing antibodies and vaccine-induced immune responses, it has become a key antigen for studies of viral entry, antibody discovery, and filovirus vaccine development.

eEnzyme's Bundibugyo Ebolavirus Pseudoviral Particles are replication-deficient lentiviral particles pseudotyped with the Bundibugyo ebolavirus GP and engineered to carry a reporter gene for quantitative detection of infection. These pseudoviral particles provide a safe and convenient BSL-2-compatible platform for investigating GP-mediated viral entry, neutralizing antibody activity, antiviral compound screening, and vaccine evaluation without the need to handle infectious Ebola virus. They provide a valuable research tool for filovirus biology, host-virus interaction studies, and high-throughput screening applications.

Applications

•  Neutralizing antibody assays
•  Antiviral compound screening
•  Ebola vaccine evaluation
•  GP-mediated viral entry studies
•  Host-virus interaction research
•  High-throughput screening (HTS)
•  Filovirus biology research
•  Therapeutic antibody development

Biological Significance of Bundibugyo Ebolavirus Pseudoviral Particles

Bundibugyo ebolavirus pseudoviral particles faithfully reproduce the GP-dependent entry process of authentic Bundibugyo virus while remaining replication incompetent. They provide a robust experimental system for studying viral entry mechanisms, evaluating neutralizing antibodies, characterizing GP variants, and screening antiviral therapeutics under standard BSL-2 laboratory conditions. As a result, Bundibugyo pseudovirus assays have become valuable tools for filovirus research, vaccine development, and therapeutic discovery.
