Glucagon-Like Peptide 2 Receptor (GLP2R) ACTOneTM Stable Cell Line

Description

This cell line is a HEK-293 CNG cell line that expresses a recombinant human GLP2R. HEK-293 CNG-Slcla3 cells express a modified CNG (Cyclic Nucleotide Gated) channel that opens in response to elevated intracellular cAMP levels and consequently result in ion flux and cell membrane depolarization. The assay allows both end-point and kinetic measurement of intracellular cAMP changes with a FLIPR or a fluorescence microplate reader.

About Human Glucagon-Like Peptide-2 Receptor (GLP2R) Stable Cell Line

Glucagon-Like Peptide-2 Receptor (GLP2R), also known as GLP-2 receptor, is a Class B G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that is activated by the intestinal hormone glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2). GLP2R primarily couples to Gs proteins, stimulating adenylate cyclase activity and increasing intracellular cAMP levels to regulate signaling pathways involved in intestinal growth, nutrient absorption, epithelial repair, and gastrointestinal function. The receptor is predominantly expressed in the gastrointestinal tract, particularly in intestinal subepithelial myofibroblasts, enteric neurons, and enteroendocrine cells.

GLP2R plays a critical role in maintaining intestinal mucosal integrity by promoting crypt cell proliferation, increasing villus height, reducing enterocyte apoptosis, and enhancing intestinal barrier function. Because of these physiological functions, GLP2R has become an important therapeutic target for short bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), intestinal failure, and other gastrointestinal disorders.
