About Human Papillomavirus Type 18 (HPV18) E6 Recombinant Protein
Human Papillomavirus Type 18 (HPV18) is a high-risk papillomavirus strongly associated with cervical cancer, anogenital cancers, and other HPV-associated malignancies. The E6 protein is one of the major viral oncoproteins and plays a critical role in HPV-mediated carcinogenesis. E6 promotes the degradation of the tumor suppressor p53 through interaction with the cellular ubiquitin ligase E6AP (UBE3A), resulting in inhibition of apoptosis, genomic instability, and uncontrolled cell proliferation. E6 also contributes to cellular immortalization by activating telomerase and disrupting multiple host signaling pathways, making it a key target for therapeutic vaccine development and cancer immunotherapy.
eEnzyme's Human HPV18 E6 Recombinant Protein is produced for research use and is suitable for studies of HPV biology, protein-protein interactions, antibody generation, ELISA development, Western blotting, epitope mapping, structural characterization, and cancer research. This recombinant protein provides a valuable reagent for investigating HPV18 oncogenesis, host immune responses, and the development of diagnostic assays, therapeutic vaccines, and targeted anticancer therapies.
Applications
• HPV18 oncogenesis research
• Protein-protein interaction studies
• Therapeutic HPV vaccine research
• Cancer immunotherapy studies
• Antibody generation and characterization
• ELISA and Western blot assays
• Epitope mapping
• Tumor immunology research
Biological Significance of HPV18 E6
HPV18 E6 is a multifunctional viral oncoprotein that is essential for the initiation and maintenance of HPV-associated malignancies. By promoting p53 degradation, activating telomerase, and disrupting host cell signaling pathways, E6 enables persistent viral infection and malignant transformation. Because E6 is continuously expressed in HPV18-positive tumors, it remains one of the most important tumor-associated antigens for studies of cervical cancer biology, therapeutic vaccine development, and targeted immunotherapy. The Human HPV18 E6 Recombinant Protein provides a valuable research tool for investigating HPV pathogenesis and developing novel therapeutic strategies.
