Description
|
This cell line is a HEK-293-CNG cell line that expresses a recombinant human MC3R. HEK-293-CNG cells express a modified CNG (Cyclic Nucleotide Gated) channel that opens in response to elevated intracellular cAMP levels and consequently result in ion flux and cell membrane depolarization. The assay allows both end-point and kinetic measurement of intracellular cAMP changes with a FLIPR or a fluorescence microplate reader.

About Human Melanocortin 3 Receptor (MC3R) Stable Cell Line
Melanocortin 3 Receptor (MC3R) is a Class A G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that is activated by endogenous melanocortin peptides, including α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), γ-MSH, and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), which are derived from the proopiomelanocortin (POMC) precursor. MC3R primarily couples to Gs proteins, stimulating adenylate cyclase activity and increasing intracellular cAMP levels. The receptor is predominantly expressed in the hypothalamus and other regions of the central nervous system, where it regulates energy homeostasis, appetite, nutrient partitioning, and metabolic function.
