About Intracellular ROS Activity Assay Kit (Green Fluorescence)
Reactive oxygen species (ROS), including superoxide, hydrogen peroxide, and hydroxyl radicals, are continuously generated during normal cellular metabolism and play important roles in cell signaling, proliferation, differentiation, and immune responses. Excessive ROS production results in oxidative stress, which contributes to cellular damage and has been implicated in numerous diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, diabetes, and inflammatory conditions. Consequently, sensitive detection of intracellular ROS has become an essential tool for studies of cell physiology, toxicology, drug discovery, and oxidative stress research.
eEnzyme's Intracellular ROS Activity Assay Kit (Green Fluorescence) provides a sensitive, one-step fluorometric assay for detecting total intracellular ROS in live cells. The cell-permeable fluorescent probe rapidly enters living cells and generates a bright green fluorescent signal upon oxidation by intracellular ROS, enabling rapid quantification using a fluorescence microplate reader, fluorescence microscope, or other fluorescence-based detection platforms. The optimized mix-and-read format is compatible with high-throughput screening and routine cell-based assays.
Applications
Applications
• Intracellular ROS detection
• Oxidative stress research

• High-throughput screening (HTS)
• Live-cell fluorescence imaging
• Cell biology research
Biological Significance of Intracellular ROS
Intracellular ROS function as important signaling molecules that regulate numerous cellular processes under physiological conditions. However, excessive ROS accumulation leads to oxidative damage of proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids, contributing to cell dysfunction and disease progression. Reliable measurement of intracellular ROS is therefore essential for investigating oxidative stress, evaluating antioxidant therapies, and studying mechanisms of disease. The Intracellular ROS Activity Assay Kit (Green Fluorescence) provides a convenient and robust tool for monitoring ROS generation in live cells across a wide range of biological and biomedical research applications.
