About Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Fusion Glycoprotein F0 Recombinant Protein

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is an enveloped, negative-sense single-stranded RNA virus belonging to the genus Orthopneumovirus in the family Pneumoviridae. The Fusion glycoprotein F0 is the inactive precursor of the RSV F protein and is proteolytically cleaved into the F1 and F2 subunits to generate the mature fusion protein required for viral entry. The F protein mediates fusion of the viral envelope with the host cell membrane and is the primary target of neutralizing antibodies and current RSV vaccines. Biological Significance of RSV Fusion Glycoprotein F0
