About Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Postfusion Glycoprotein F Recombinant Protein
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is an enveloped, negative-sense single-stranded RNA virus belonging to the genus Orthopneumovirus in the family Pneumoviridae. The Fusion (F) glycoprotein is the major viral surface protein responsible for membrane fusion and viral entry. During infection, the F protein undergoes an irreversible conformational transition from the metastable prefusion (Pre-F) state to the stable postfusion (Post-F) state.
