About Rift Valley Fever Virus (RVFV) Glycoprotein G2 Recombinant Protein
Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV) is an enveloped, negative-sense, three-segmented RNA virus belonging to the genus Phlebovirus in the family Phenuiviridae. The viral G2 glycoprotein (Gc) is one of the two envelope glycoproteins encoded by the M segment and forms a heterodimer with G1 (Gn) on the virion surface. Together, the Gn/Gc complex mediates host-cell attachment, membrane fusion, and viral entry, making G2 an important target for neutralizing antibodies, vaccine development, and antiviral research.
eEnzyme's Rift Valley Fever Virus Glycoprotein G2 Recombinant Protein is produced for research use and is suitable for antibody generation, ELISA development, Western blotting, epitope mapping, structural characterization, and vaccine research. This recombinant protein provides a valuable reagent for investigating RVFV biology, host immune responses, virus-host interactions, and the development of diagnostic assays and antiviral therapeutics.
Applications
Applications
• RVFV glycoprotein research
• Neutralizing antibody screening
• ELISA and Western blot assays
• Epitope mapping
• Structural biology studies
• Vaccine research
• Host-virus interaction studies
• Antiviral therapeutic development
Biological Significance of RVFV Glycoprotein G2
RVFV G2 (Gc) is the viral class II fusion glycoprotein that mediates membrane fusion following endocytic uptake of the virus into host cells. In association with Gn, G2 is essential for viral infectivity and contains important antigenic epitopes recognized by protective immune responses. Consequently, the RVFV Glycoprotein G2 Recombinant Protein provides a valuable research tool for studies of Rift Valley fever virus pathogenesis, vaccine development, therapeutic antibody discovery, and diagnostic assay development.
