About Rift Valley Fever Virus (RVFV) Non-Structural Protein NSs Recombinant Protein
Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV) is an enveloped, negative-sense, three-segmented RNA virus belonging to the genus Phlebovirus in the family Phenuiviridae. The Non-Structural Protein NSs is encoded by the viral S segment and is the principal virulence factor of RVFV. Although NSs is not incorporated into mature virions, it is expressed early during infection and suppresses host innate immune responses by inhibiting type I interferon (IFN) signaling and host gene transcription, thereby promoting viral replication and pathogenesis. Because of its central role in immune evasion, NSs has become an important target for studies of RVFV pathogenesis, antiviral development, and vaccine research.
eEnzyme's Rift Valley Fever Virus NSs Recombinant Protein is produced for research use and is suitable for antibody generation, ELISA development, Western blotting, epitope mapping, protein-protein interaction studies, and immunological research. This recombinant protein provides a valuable reagent for investigating RVFV-host interactions, innate immune evasion, and the development of antiviral therapeutics and attenuated vaccine candidates.
Applications
Applications
• RVFV NSs protein research
• Innate immune response studies
• Host-virus interaction studies
• Antibody generation and characterization
• ELISA and Western blot assays
• Epitope mapping
• Protein-protein interaction studies
• Antiviral and vaccine research
Biological Significance of RVFV NSs
RVFV NSs is the major virulence factor responsible for suppressing antiviral host defenses. By inhibiting type I interferon production, disrupting host transcription, and antagonizing antiviral signaling pathways, NSs enables efficient viral replication and contributes to disease severity. As a key regulator of RVFV pathogenesis, the RVFV NSs Recombinant Protein provides a valuable research tool for studies of virus-host interactions, immune evasion mechanisms, antiviral drug discovery, and rational vaccine design.
