About Rift Valley Fever Virus (RVFV) Nucleoprotein (NP) Recombinant Protein
Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV) is an enveloped, negative-sense, three-segmented RNA virus belonging to the genus Phlebovirus in the family Phenuiviridae. The Nucleoprotein (NP) is the major structural protein of the viral nucleocapsid and is essential for encapsidating the viral RNA genome, protecting it from degradation, and supporting viral transcription and replication. Together with the viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (L), NP forms the ribonucleoprotein (RNP) complex required for the RVFV life cycle. Because NP is highly conserved, abundantly expressed, and strongly immunogenic, it is widely used in diagnostic assay development, immunological studies, and RVFV research.
eEnzyme's Rift Valley Fever Virus Nucleoprotein (NP) Recombinant Protein is produced in HEK293 cells for research use and is suitable for antibody generation, ELISA development, Western blotting, epitope mapping, structural characterization, and diagnostic assay development. This recombinant protein provides a valuable reagent for investigating RVFV biology, host immune responses, and the development of diagnostics and antiviral therapeutics.

Biological Significance of RVFV Nucleoprotein
RVFV NP is indispensable for viral replication by encapsidating the viral RNA genome and forming the ribonucleoprotein complex that serves as the template for viral transcription and genome replication. Although NP is not a target of neutralizing antibodies, it is highly immunogenic and elicits robust humoral and cellular immune responses, making it an important antigen for serological diagnostics, immune monitoring, and studies of RVFV pathogenesis. The RVFV Nucleoprotein (NP) Recombinant Protein provides a valuable research tool for investigations of virus-host interactions, diagnostic assay development, and vaccine research.
