About Rabies Virus Glycoprotein (G) Recombinant Protein

Rabies virus is an enveloped, negative-sense single-stranded RNA virus belonging to the genus Lyssavirus in the family Rhabdoviridae. The glycoprotein (G) is the only viral surface protein and is responsible for host-cell attachment, receptor binding, membrane fusion, and viral entry. As the principal surface antigen of rabies virus, the G protein contains the major neutralizing epitopes recognized by protective antibodies and is the primary antigen used in rabies vaccine development and immunological research.

eEnzyme's Rabies Virus Glycoprotein (G) Recombinant Protein is produced for research use and is suitable for antibody screening, receptor-binding studies, ELISA development, Western blotting, epitope mapping, structural characterization, and rabies vaccine research. This recombinant protein provides a valuable reagent for investigating rabies virus biology, host immune responses, and the development of vaccines and antiviral therapeutics.

Applications

•  Rabies virus glycoprotein research
•  Neutralizing antibody screening
•  Receptor-binding studies
•  ELISA and Western blot assays
•  Epitope mapping
•  Structural biology studies
•  Rabies vaccine research
•  Antiviral therapeutic development

Biological Significance of Rabies Virus Glycoprotein

The rabies virus G protein is indispensable for viral infection, mediating receptor recognition, membrane fusion, and viral entry into susceptible cells. It is also the primary target of virus-neutralizing antibodies and the major protective antigen in both human and veterinary rabies vaccines. Because of its essential role in viral pathogenesis and protective immunity, the Rabies Virus Glycoprotein Recombinant Protein provides a valuable research tool for studies of rabies virus biology, vaccine development, therapeutic antibody discovery, and diagnostic assay development.
