About SD Polymerase for LAMP Assay
SD Polymerase is a thermostable DNA polymerase engineered from Taq DNA polymerase with enhanced strand displacement activity and high processivity. Unlike conventional Taq polymerase, SD Polymerase efficiently displaces downstream DNA strands during synthesis, making it particularly well suited for loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP), polymerase chain displacement reaction (PCDR), long-range PCR, and amplification of GC-rich or difficult DNA templates. Its high thermostability also permits an initial high-temperature denaturation step, improving amplification specificity in many LAMP assays.
eEnzyme's SD Polymerase provides robust amplification performance for molecular biology research and is ideal for pathogen detection, molecular diagnostics research, nucleic acid amplification, and point-of-care assay development. The enzyme combines strong strand displacement activity with excellent thermostability, enabling sensitive, rapid, and reliable DNA amplification across a wide range of research applications.
Applications
• Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP)
• Polymerase chain displacement reaction (PCDR)
• Long-range PCR
• High GC-content DNA amplification
• Difficult template amplification
• Pathogen detection research
• Molecular diagnostics research
• Point-of-care assay development
Biological Significance of SD Polymerase
SD Polymerase combines the strand displacement capability required for isothermal amplification with the thermostability of a Taq-derived DNA polymerase. This unique combination improves amplification efficiency, specificity, and yield compared with conventional DNA polymerases in many applications. As a result, SD Polymerase has become a valuable enzyme for LAMP-based nucleic acid detection, rapid molecular diagnostics research, long-range PCR, and next-generation nucleic acid amplification technologies.
