Description

This HEK293 stable cell line has been engineered to express recombinant human VLDLR (GenBank Accession No. NP_003374.3), which is localized to the cell surface. Functional validation was performed using Eastern Equine Encephalitis Pseudovirus, confirming receptor activity and suitability for virus-host interaction studies.

About Human Very Low-Density Lipoprotein Receptor (VLDLR) Stable Cell Line

Very Low-Density Lipoprotein Receptor (VLDLR) is a member of the low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) family and plays important roles in lipid metabolism, neuronal development, cellular signaling, and viral entry. VLDLR is widely expressed in tissues such as the brain, heart, skeletal muscle, adipose tissue, and reproductive organs, where it mediates the uptake of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins and participates in diverse physiological processes. In addition to its function in lipid transport, VLDLR serves as a receptor for Reelin, a key extracellular matrix protein involved in neuronal migration, cortical layering, and brain development.

VLDLR has gained increasing attention in both neuroscience and infectious disease research. In the central nervous system, VLDLR-mediated Reelin signaling regulates neuronal positioning, synaptic plasticity, and cognitive function.
