About Zaire Ebolavirus (Mayinga-76) Pseudoviral Particles
Zaire ebolavirus (EBOV) is the most pathogenic member of the genus Orthoebolavirus and is the causative agent of Ebola virus disease (EVD). The Mayinga-76 isolate, recovered during the first recorded Ebola outbreak in 1976, is the prototype reference strain and has been extensively used in molecular biology, structural biology, vaccine, and antiviral research. The viral glycoprotein (GP) is the only surface protein expressed on the virion and mediates host-cell attachment, membrane fusion, and viral entry, making it the primary target of neutralizing antibodies and vaccines.
eEnzyme's Zaire Ebolavirus (Mayinga-76) Pseudoviral Particles are replication-deficient lentiviral particles pseudotyped with the Mayinga-76 GP and engineered to express a firefly luciferase reporter for quantitative measurement of viral entry.
