NADH Assay Kit (Red Fluorescence)

Catalog Number:
CA-N205
Price: $419.00
Detailed Description

CA-N205

Name

Elite™ NADH Assay Kit (Red Fluorescence)

Description

The Elite™ Fluorimetric NADH Assay Kit provides a sensitive, one-step assay to detect as little as 100 pico-moles of NADH in a 100 μl assay volume (1 μM). It has very low background since it is run in the red visible range that significantly reduces the interference resulted from biological samples.

Application

The assay can be conveniently performed in a 96-well or 384-well microtiter-plate format. Its signal can be easily read by either a fluorescence microplate reader at Ex/Em = 540/590 nm or an absorbance microplate reader at ~576 nm.

Size

400 assays in 96-well plates

About Elite™ NADH Assay Kit (Red Fluorescence)

Reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) is a central metabolic coenzyme that functions as a primary electron carrier in cellular energy metabolism. Generated during glycolysis, the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, and β-oxidation, NADH transports high-energy electrons to the mitochondrial electron transport chain, where oxidative phosphorylation produces ATP. Intracellular NADH levels therefore provide an important indicator of cellular metabolic activity, mitochondrial function, and redox homeostasis. Alterations in NADH concentration have been associated with cancer metabolism, mitochondrial dysfunction, neurodegenerative diseases, diabetes, aging, and oxidative stress, making NADH quantification an essential tool in both basic research and drug discovery.

eEnzyme's Elite™ NADH Assay Kit (Red Fluorescence) provides a rapid, highly sensitive, one-step fluorometric assay for the specific quantification of NADH in cell lysates, tissue extracts, and other biological samples. The assay utilizes an enzyme-cycling reaction coupled with a red fluorescent probe, enabling detection of as little as 100 picomoles of NADH in a 100 μL assay volume while minimizing background interference from biological autofluorescence. The homogeneous assay is compatible with 96- and 384-well microplate formats and can be read using a fluorescence microplate reader (Ex/Em = 540/590 nm) or an absorbance reader at approximately 576 nm, making it suitable for routine laboratory analysis as well as high-throughput screening (HTS).

Applications

•  Intracellular NADH quantification
•  Cellular energy metabolism studies
•  Mitochondrial function analysis
•  Cellular redox state assessment
•  Oxidative stress research
•  Drug discovery and metabolic screening
•  Enzyme activity assays involving NADH
•  High-throughput screening (HTS)

Biological Significance of NADH

NADH serves as one of the most important reducing equivalents in living cells, linking glycolysis, the TCA cycle, fatty acid oxidation, and oxidative phosphorylation to ATP production. The intracellular NADH pool reflects the metabolic status of cells and plays a critical role in maintaining redox balance, regulating mitochondrial respiration, and supporting numerous NADH-dependent oxidoreductases. Abnormal NADH metabolism has been implicated in metabolic disorders, cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurodegeneration, and aging. Sensitive measurement of NADH levels therefore provides valuable insight into cellular bioenergetics, mitochondrial health, metabolic reprogramming, and therapeutic responses. The Elite™ NADH Assay Kit (Red Fluorescence) offers a reliable, sensitive, and convenient solution for investigating NADH-dependent metabolic pathways in cell biology, pharmacology, toxicology, and biomedical research.
