About HIV-1 Clade B Gag Recombinant Protein
Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1) is an enveloped retrovirus belonging to the genus Lentivirus in the family Retroviridae. The Gag (Group-specific Antigen) polyprotein is the major structural protein of HIV-1 and is essential for viral assembly, genome packaging, budding, and maturation. During virus maturation, the Gag precursor is cleaved by the viral protease into the matrix (MA/p17), capsid (CA/p24), nucleocapsid (NC/p7), and additional structural proteins that form mature infectious virions. Because of its central role in the HIV life cycle, Gag is widely used in studies of viral assembly, host-virus interactions, vaccine development, and antiviral research.
eEnzyme's HIV-1 Clade B Gag Recombinant Protein is produced for research use and is suitable for studies of HIV biology, antibody generation, ELISA development, Western blotting, epitope mapping, T-cell immune response analysis, and vaccine research. This recombinant protein provides a valuable reagent for investigating HIV-1 structural proteins, viral assembly mechanisms, and host immune responses.
Applications
• HIV pathogenesis research
• Viral assembly and budding studies
• Host-virus interaction studies
• T-cell immune response assays
• Antibody generation and characterization
• ELISA and Western blot assays
• Epitope mapping
• HIV vaccine research
Biological Significance of HIV-1 Gag
HIV-1 Gag is the principal structural protein responsible for the formation of new virus particles and is sufficient to drive virus-like particle (VLP) assembly. In addition to organizing virion structure, Gag mediates genomic RNA packaging, recruits viral and host proteins, and coordinates virus maturation through proteolytic processing. Because Gag contains multiple conserved T-cell epitopes and plays an indispensable role in viral replication, it remains an important target for HIV vaccine development, immunological studies, and antiviral therapeutic research. The HIV-1 Clade B Gag Recombinant Protein provides a valuable tool for investigating HIV biology and supporting the development of next-generation vaccines and therapeutics.
