Rabies virus is an enveloped, negative-sense single-stranded RNA virus belonging to the genus Lyssavirus in the family Rhabdoviridae. The Nucleoprotein (N) is the major structural protein of the viral nucleocapsid and is essential for encapsidating the viral RNA genome, protecting it from degradation, and supporting viral transcription and replication. Together with the phosphoprotein (P) and viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (L), N forms the ribonucleoprotein (RNP) complex required for the viral life cycle. Because it is highly conserved and abundantly expressed during infection, the N protein is widely used in diagnostic assay development, immunological studies, and rabies virus research.
eEnzyme's Rabies Virus Nucleoprotein (N) Recombinant Protein is produced for research use and is suitable for antibody generation, ELISA development, Western blotting, epitope mapping, structural characterization, and rabies virus research. This recombinant protein provides a valuable reagent for investigating rabies virus biology, host immune responses, and the development of diagnostics and antiviral therapeutics.
Applications
• Rabies virus nucleoprotein research
• Antibody generation and characterization
• ELISA and Western blot assays
• Diagnostic assay development
• Epitope mapping
• Structural biology studies
• Rabies vaccine research
• Antiviral therapeutic development
Biological Significance of Rabies Virus Nucleoprotein
The rabies virus N protein is indispensable for viral replication, serving as the RNA-binding protein that encapsidates the viral genome and forms the ribonucleoprotein complex required for transcription and genome replication. Its high conservation and strong immunogenicity have made it one of the most widely used antigens for rabies diagnostics and immunological research. The Rabies Virus Nucleoprotein Recombinant Protein provides a valuable research tool for studies of rabies virus biology, immune responses, diagnostic assay development, and antiviral research.
